The purpose of this project was to find a podcast to design into a chapbook, which is a small collection of work. Using the transcript, and imagery that reflected the contents, I designed a 5”x7” book.

“Digging up the Bones” follows a few people who discover new things about their past that change their outlook on life. These stories deal with death and secrets and I wanted to find imagery that reflected somber or secretive moments. For the color palette, I went with black and red. Black to represent death, darkness, and secrets. Red to represent passion, lust, and love. SCF Old Republic and Big Caslon were the typefaces I chose for this book. I wanted a typeface that was easy to read since there is a lot of text, and something that was solid and wide that could spread well along the page for titles and quotes.
